Should I retake calculus based physics 1 next semester?

I am debating if I should retake Calculus-based physics 1 next semester. Last Fall I failed the class but passed the lab. During the Spring semester, I met with my Chemistry advisor and he said that I would need to take the class again, but it would have to be Calculus-based physics. I had two options to make: I picked option 2 since during that time I would have preferred to take a course during a long length of time. However, after emailing a couple of graduate schools for Atmospheric Science. They said I need to take Calculus-based physics 1 again. Since the physics over the summer won’t be enough. Which is surprising since is the same course just with calculus involved. I’m in Calculus-Based physics 2 now. I’m now a math major and hoping to see if it’s worth taking Calculus-based physics 1 again.

Just for those who have a hard time here is my background:
A transfer student from CC
Completed the calculus sequence
Completed the organic chemistry sequence (Chemistry major)

1: Take Calculus-based physics online (100% online) through my college. 6 weeks
2. Take Algebra-based physics near my home state college. It was from May to August

If the grad schools want Calculus-based Physics 1, then that is what you need to do.

Thank you.

Calculus based and non calculus based physics courses can be very different.

Non calculus based physics is basically a course for premeds. Scientists who need to use physics in their work need to learn physics with calculus.
