Hello everyone,
I am an international student from Morocco wishing to apply to Stanford, Yale, Princeton and Harvard as a freshman. I graduated from high school two years ago (2017-2018) and therefore have all needed transcripts and a high-school certificate (the final transcript does mention that I graduate). I have straight A’s in all subjects through high school except in physics where I have a B. But the grades I received in my final exams are lower due to personal circumstances that my counselor will probably mention in the recommendation letter. Is it worth it to retake the final exams as an independent candidate this year in order to improve my scores ? It would be the same classes as when I graduated high school but less intensive because I am legally not allowed to take the same ones. Also it would not change anything to the grades I received in quizzes and tests. It would be more of a “second high school graduation”. I know admissions in the US are holistic, therefore should I do this ?
Thank you very much.
P.S: I know that it’s not recommended to only apply to those top tier universities and that I should apply for some that are easier to get into, but I am also applying to community colleges.
