Should I retake the subject tests for Carnegie Mellon?

I’m in a little bit of a dilemma now as I just found out CMU only takes standardized testing scores from junior and senior year. They recommend 2 subjects tests, Math II and a science (in my case Bio M), for their SCS program. However, I took both of them in my freshman and sophomore years and I received an 800 in both. I have one satisfactory SAT score from sophomore year as well, but I’m planning to retake junior year anyway. I know I want to apply to Carnegie Mellon. Should I retake these subject test scores?

Also, are there any other colleges that have this sort of testing requirement?

Thanks.

I would contact the admissions office and ask directly. Subject tests are generally taken at the end of the year in which you took that class, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a biology test from freshman or sophomore year, and if you’re in advanced math classes, it is a disadvantage to wait to take the Math tests, as you’re not using those particular math skills on a regular basis. I would wait for a direct answer for them, because retaking could result in lower scores (with 880s, your scores obviously can’t go up).
