Should i SACRIFICE my dream school?

is there is still time to apply to other colleges in dc area and maybe they would offer more??? you only have 2 to compare right now.

Think long and hard. Make the pros and cons list. Figure out the financial ramifications long term for both. Consult your heart. Write a script of yourself in each situation. Sleep on it. You’ll make the right choice!

Go back to American and ask for more money. It can’t hurt. As someone else said, I truly feel for kids in your situation. Don’t forget cost of going home on holidays (thangkgiving, xmas, spring break). Bottom line, I never like to see kids graduate with more than 20K in dept. Mills may even be too expensive for you.

As an aside, I went to an all girls college (way back in the late 70’s) and had the time of my life. You do have a social life and there will be plenty of parties and opportunities to mix with the boys. Don’t let the all girl school turn you off.

Last, have you applied anywhere else?

I am imagine that the OP is happily enrolled at a school somewhere since the original post was from March of 2008.

skurai never posted again on cc after this thread. How weird is that?!

Seems pretty typical to me. I don’ t understand why people resurrect these old threads though. I only ever look at the first page or two of the forum.

Go to American. Get a part-time job at the Wagshalls deli right across the street (Mass. Ave.). Make it work. You will have 45 years to make up the $40,000 difference. I’ll bet you can do it in 12.

I think what happens is that people click on the feature at the bottom of the page, with similar stories, not realizing how old they are.
