Should I say I'm captain?

I’m a rising Senior, and I play a Spring Varsity sport at my school, and am almost very sure that I will become a Captain.
But, I will not be informed of that decision until early mid-January, which is after I submit college apps.

So should I list myself as a captain for 12th grade on the Common App, or not mention it at all? I was thinking not to mention it because although I am very confident of getting the position, nothing’s set in stone.

You could say something like anticipated captain for 12th grade if you don’t know before apps go in.
