<p>I currently attend a csu that I completely despise. My grades last semester were not great, so I'll be spending this semester trying to make that up. Since I'm a freshman, most schools won't let me transfer for another year. I'm worried that even the ones that would take an early transfer won't let me in because of grades. I am miserable here, and although my grades are better this semester than last, I'm worried I will never be able to do great at this school because I am so unhappy. Should I try to convince my mom to let me go to a community college and then transfer later, or should I stick it out here and hope for the best? I've been thinking about studying abroad earlier than usual, should I look into that?</p>
<p>I was in the same situation as you last semester. Freshman at CSUN, a biochemistry major. Now I am going to a community college because I just want to get out of the house. I am hoping to transfer to a UC or a private college in three years. I think you should talk to your mom and explain your misery to her. I went to India for college after high school. Now I am two years behind but I have no regrets because I am enjoying my cc so far.</p>
