Should I stay...or go to Cornell?

I've been accepted at Cornell for human bio, health and society major in college of human ecology. I'm a bio/pre-med major at UMass right now, and I'm not sure if it would be good for me to go to Cornell. My biggest concern is that I might not be able to maintain my gpa there, hearing so many horrible stories about grade deflation. That wouldn't be so pretty for med school is it?

you will have there bro, be social

I've said this a number of times in other places, but if they've accepted you it must be because they believe you can do the work successfully.

I wouldn't go. Cornell is the cost and feel of a state school at the price of a elite school.

hmmm... cost of a state school at the price of an elite school... what the **** is that supposed to mean?

Think real hard and you'll see what he was getting at.

and the education of an IVY LEAGUE! GO TO CORNELL and take advantage of the opportunity

i dont get it either!!! I thought about it, and i think maybe he means its kinda like a state school but its not worth it cuz it costs too much? lol

Well he says its the cost of a state school, but the price of an elite school.

Seems obvious does it not?

is this economics? as in opportunity costs? lol! I totally forgot my econ!

Could be, I really do not know.

seiken, you have poor comprehension skills if you don't understand that. Although i think you were just trying to be an *******.

Well I can remove the chunk 'cost' and it makes more sense, so I can interpret what he was attempting to say, however comprehending what he actually said is rather difficult as it seems almost impossible under the idea that cost = price and state school =/= elite school.

BTW Do not EVER call me seven asterisks again - its completely uncalled for. If you do I will hop through my internet connection and out your computer and chloroform you. I will then eat all of your food, kick your dog, then take one of your kidneys to sell on the black market.

I'm not a pre-med major, but I imagine having gone to Cornell will look better than having gone to UMass when applications come in. No offense to UMass.

Hey I was accepted for transfer in the fall to Human Ecology and Human Bio, Health and Society too!

Did you get your credit eval... I did! They really map out the courses...

Yeah see because Im at a community college I do not really have the dilemma of deciding should I stay or go? The only thing I am waiting for is to hear about financial aid and comparable packages -which I think may be something to remember when making your choice about schools. Did you apply anywhere else? Have you heard of your financial aid packet from Cornell yet? What about the other schools that you applied to?

I think I would definitely go with CX3 on the fact that it is an ivy league school which would probably help alot when it comes to med school applications. Furthermore, I think you will have far more opportunities at Cornell so those are something that you should also factor in.

Now about the whole price versus cost debate (LOL - I also dont know what Patriot was trying to say) but yes Cornell does have a undergrad population of around 13k I believe. That can be tough for some people, and there is also the weather. But those are really the only downsides I can think of going there - I guess its up to you to decide how large of downsides they actually are!

Anyway, hit me up since we may be going to the same school at Cornell with the same major! Send me a PM or something.

huh? how did u get a credit evaluation? is that only for your specific college? because i never got one. But i did hear about my finaid packet. And i am also from a community college.

Hmmm mojo...

I think

a) it may be college specific

OR

b) you may just not have recieved yours yet because I only recieved it last week or something like that

Call up and ask. Did you accept yet?

no, i havent said yes to the school. Did you?

I thought they do the college credits always before you accept their offer, that way you know your standing, and if you dont like it, you peace out!

Yeah I know what you mean.

I am also still waiting for financial aid information but thats more of my fault then theres to be honest!
