Well I just received my SAT II scores and they were: 750 on each of Math 2 and Physics. I'm applying to some top tier schools like Harvard-MIT and Stanford and was wondering whether these were sufficient especially since I'm an international. Would raising my score up to 800 on each section really help. Thanks

750s are good enough for those schools. Raising to 800 would be helpful but only slightly. It is a matter of personal choice. If I knew that I could get 800 and got 750s, I would definitely retake. good luck. 50 points do not make or break your application.

I for one am pretty happy about those scores. I self-studied 10 completely new lessons in physics and 8 completely new lessons in math 2 in approximately a week before the test. As long as these score do not hurt my application, that is all i need to hear. but if they do hurt then i’m prepared to retake. So what is your advice.

Can you tell me how you prepared for physics and math? The books you used or any other practice material?

Used Barron’s for Math 2 and PR for physics.

Do you guys find Barron’s and PR useful in terms of teaching someone who has NO idea anything regarding to a specific subject test? Or are they just sufficient for recap?

don’t retake. Those last 50 points wont make or break your application. If you get deferred (assuming you did EA MIT or something) then I might consider it, just to be able to write on the February Notes that you have a 800, but otherwise not worth your time.

Thank you!
