should I submit these scores?

Seeing as how PC is test optional i'm wondering what I should do. I'm one of those lopsided SAT kids - ok in one area, weak in another.

My reading was 630 (at their 75%) writing was 660 (above their 75%) but math was - gulp -460, which is below their 25%. I'll be an english major. Will the math score completely kill me. I think the rest of my app should be ok. My UW GPA is 90.66 (3.6?), 6 AP classes, good recs, etc. I've also shown a lot of demonstrated interest. visits, interviews, etc.

so, would you submit these scores or forget it.

When my D and I went to the informational session and tour at PC, the admissions rep that spoke said that if you do submit the scores they are taken into consideration. Someone asked the question as to what was the percentage of students who were accepted who submitted their scores versus the the percentage of students who didn’t submit and were accepted. He said the students who did submit had a slightly higher percentage of admittance, although he wasn’t sure if it had anything to do directly with the submission of scores or not.

Anyway, that being said, is this the only time you have taken the SAT? If it is, you may want to take them again in January and do regular decision.

No, this is the 2nd time i took them. Took last spring and math was actually worse this time. reading was the same and writing went up.

I had tutors all summer and right up to the test. all of my practice tests in reading/writing were high 700’s. I just choke when I take these tests for some reason.

I don’t think I can go thru another test, so I think i’m done.

I would submit both sets of scores then, they will superscore them and take the best from each section, so that should not be a problem. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If you really don’t want to send them, don’t. They know you have a strong interest and as long as everything else is strong (essay, gpa, ec’s) you should be ok.
