He’s a junior in a math/science magnet program. His GPA isn’t particularly strong; a couple of D’s have pulled it down to around 3.4. He gets his SAT results this week; he scored 224 on the PSAT. He crossed a smaller liberal arts college he had been interested off his list due to a lack of offerings in his intended major (math). Could his numbers get him much merit aid here? We’re caught in the “cost of living in our area makes our above average income not go that far” trap.
I would call the school(admissions) explain the situation and ask them. tell them you are not looking for a not for a commitment just an honest assessment of the situation. the worst is that they say they can not give you help. the only folks who know are the people at the school.
