I’m currently a junior in high school, and on the last SAT I took (December 2016) I got a 1440, and a 8/8/8 on the writing portion. When I take the ACT, should I take it with or without writing? If I don’t get as high of a score on the ACT writing, will it look worse than if I have no ACT Writing score, and only have the SAT one? Please give me some advice.
In my recent review of common data sets for several top colleges I have been surprised to see those schools NOT consider the writing portion of either test. The scorers have been criticized recently. My advice is to look at the specific requirements for the schools you are interested in. Good chance you don’t need to take the writing portion.
