I took AP Computer Science Principles in freshman year. This year I took Introduction to Programming Logic at dual credit and I’m taking Database Fundamentals dual credit right now. I got an A in the first semester AP Computer Science A and an A- second semester. I got a B in Introduction to Programming.
APCSA is accepted as a first semester course in programming at many colleges. Possibly this DE Introduction to Programming Logic you took may be as well. Do the syllabi look comparable? Also, three CS classes would be a lot for HS.
It’s equivelent to AP Computer Science Principles.
@dshs823271 No. It’s not.
It seems you are already taking the course and are just asking about the exam? If so, and you can afford the fee and spare a few hours before the exam to revise I’d say go for it. Many colleges give you credit for the first introduction to CS course for AP CSA, and it may be easier to claim credit for this standard exam than for the other things you did.
AP CSA primarily teaches Java. It is NOT the same as AP CSP, which is more introductory and touches on a variety of programming languages.
I think at my school AP Computer Science Principles is an Introduction to Java and AP Computer Science A is a second year Java course.
