Should I take AP Human Geography/AP Pshycology?

I am a freshman and I have a 99 in World History Honors. My teacher recommended me for AP Psychology next year. I was wondering whether I should take AP Human Geography as an online course over the summer, since psychology has a lot of human anatomy in it. So in short: Should I take AP Psychology next year? If so what pre course should I take? and can you recommend a good place to take an online course?
Thanks!

AP Psych is a course that does not require background knowledge. I’m sure that if you walked in to class on the first day prepared for what is to come it would benefit you, but you don’t have to take any pre courses. If you have the interest in it I would most certainly take the course, and that goes for any course-- not just AP Psych.

Most online courses are just independent studies so it wouldn’t be like the type of learning you are used to. Honestly, if you read a book on psychology or bought a textbook and took the quizzes, I believe it would have the same effect as an online course, because that’s all online education really is. If you do choose to take an online course, be prepared for a lot of reading and writing. Not much time will be spent with a teacher though.

I don’t know of any online schools that offer AP Psych at the moment, but if I stumble upon one I shall let you know!

AP Human Geo is not needed for AP Psych.

AP Human Geography has nothing to do with AP Psychology xDDD Human Geography is, “The branch of geography dealing with how human activity affects or is influenced by the earth’s surface.” The only requirement for AP Psychology should be Biology, but you really only need to know the parts of the brain. You probably could take AP Psych without Biology, but most high schools require Bio first  Since you’re a freshman now, I’m guessing you’re taking Biology, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

A popular online school is FLVS  It’s Florida’s online public high school. If you don’t live in Florida, each semester costs $400. Most states have free online schools (with AP). Some prestigious ones are Stanford’s EPGY and Johns Hopkins University’s CTY. They’re hard to get in, though

These are considered the easiest APs (along with AP Environmental Science), so you should be able to handle them  The APHG grading curve is very generous, since many freshman take the class and fail the exam. I think a 5 is just 60%! The Psychology curve is harder; a 5 is about 75%. These grading scales aren’t definite though, they’re just ones from previous exams. I hope everything works out for you!

AP Human Geography isn’t a prerequisite for AP Psychology. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m not in the class, but a few of a my friends are, and they consider AP Psychology the “easiest” out of their bunch.
