Should I take Linear Algebra or Multivariable Calculus first?

I will be a freshman in high school in the coming school year. I am planning to take Linear Algebra first semester and then Differential Equations second semester on JHU CTY online, but the prerequisites for Linear Algebra says Multivariable Calculus preferred. I’ve seen other threads that mention Linear Algebra is recommended for Multivariable Calculus. I also don’t want to overwhelm myself my first semester of high school. I’m currently taking AP Calculus BC if that helps. Which one should I take first?

Generally in a college engineering curriculum you take Calc 1, Calc2, Multivariable Calc, and then Diff EQ. Linear Algebra is more optional but probably needed for Master’s programs. So I would suggest Multivariable Calc esp if it is suggested as a pre-req.

You have plenty of time to take Linear Algebra. The other thing to consider is what do professors who teach Linear Algebra generally expect their students to know? If it is generally a junior or senior type course then take it later.
