Should I take Orchestra if it brings down my weighted GPA?

I have a 4.3 weighted GPA right now because Orchestra is not a weighted class.
At my school, Orchestra is a 0 Period, so it's before school and doesn't take up a class slot.
My weighted GPA would be somewhere around 4.5 or 4.6 if I hadn't been taking Orchestra during my freshman and sophomore year, though.

I really love playing the violin though. I don't have any awards in violin though, so it's not like it's an exceptional extracurricular. I don't know.

no college will penalize you for pursuing music even if your GPA lowers because of it.

I think that it’s an excellent extracurricular activity which is a factor that colleges will look at during the admissions process. They want to see that you’ve really committed yourself in a few select areas rather than having a wide variety of activities in which you don’t truly apply yourself. And since you really enjoy playing the violin, I think you should continue with it :).
