Should I take Spanish 3 Senior year

I took Spanish 1 in 8th grade got an A+ and then Spanish 2 in 9th grade and got a C+ so I just took Chinese 1 my 10th grade year and got an A. Then due to budget cuts they discontinued Chinese which I planned on doing 11th and 12th grade.

So I didn't take any language 11th grade year and now in my 12th grade year should I take Spanish 3?
I still remember Spanish enough to get a B.
The university i plan on applying like the USF and UC's only require 2 years which I have but they recommend 3 years and I heard that it really helps your admission chances.

So if I take Spanish 3 senior year and get a B would it still look a lot better than If I were to get an A in a different class?

yes, take spanish. Im sorry to hear that they discontinued chinese, but it’ll look much better if you take a 3rd year of foreign language.

Would it look like Im just doing it just so it looks good for my application since the last time I took spanish was Freshmen year with Spanish 2 and since I was a freshmen who couldn’t care less I bombed the class with a C+.

Ill probably end up with a B though.

Technically I do have 3 years of foreign language since I did 2 years spanish and 1 year chinese.

yes, but they don’t care about that. Foreign language is a core class and you really should take at least 3 years. They won’t look down at you for a late realization of that fact. I would make also make a note in additional information (im not familiar with the exact format of the UC app, but im sure there’s something similar) that chinese was cancelled. And the foreign language requirement is of one language, no ifs ands or buts. Its cool if you can take more than one, but if you don’t reach level 3 in one of them, it doesn’t count.
