My school doesn’t offer AP classes, but it’s recommended that we take our Language AP (I take Spanish.) I’m a sophomore, and I am taking Spanish 3 Honors this year, but it might make more sense for me to wait and take it next year, during my junior year (I’ll probably be taking Spanish 4 Honors).
I also am taking Modern World History this year, which isn’t an AP, but I can take the AP Exam; I take US History next year, which I can take the exam for. It’s not required or recommended to take it for the History classes, but I love history and if I study enough, is it possible to do well?
Also, I really want to apply to top schools - like Top 25, so would a 3 or 4 be good enough, or do I have to get a 5? Thanks in advance!
The colleges you are looking at will have their own policies regarding AP tests for college credit. They would probably want at least a 4 to give credit, if they do give credit. Not all colleges do.
Also, you should probably wait for the AP Spanish exam and take it junior year after you have Spanish 4. I don’t know anything about the exam, but I’m sure an extra year would help.
Make sure you look up what is covered on the college board website for all the test you are considering. That will help you decide if/when to take the exams.
