so in my calculus class, there is a HUGE network of "cheaters". Because my calculus teacher reuses his tests every year, people who have older siblings get a huge advantage because they get to see the test like months beforehand. I was thinking of telling the teacher, but I am afraid they are going to start threatening me..should i still tell him?

Tell her secretly and ask her not to reveal who said it?

Yes, you should tell the teacher. You may do so anonymously if you are worried. In university, cheating is a much bigger deal than in high school and can get you expelled. In my university, and many others, “tolerance” or not reporting a known incident of cheating is considered an honor code violation and can get you suspended or expelled, depending on previous offenses. It is better that they learn their lesson now, when the consequences aren’t as life changing.

yes please tell the teacher this! it is only hurting you

No, tell ON the teacher. The teacher is not doing his or her job and should be fired (but won’t be if public school). There is no way the cheating ring can work without the teacher defrauding the school.

@rhandco no, the teacher has done nothing wrong. Many teachers reuse tests because the questions have been vetted and they know the questions are good.

If teachers reuse their tests, theres bound to be a ton of people cheating, just ask a friend that took the class the year before and get all the answers. Im not sure how uncommon it is

im just going to anonymously put a note and tell him what’s been going on

It’s not only people who have older siblings, it’s people with friends in older grades, etc. But I doubt every person has EVERY test saved but if you feel it’s that important to you, go for it! :)
