Should I transfer again?

I recently moved with my parents from Colorado to South Carolina, and I decided to transfer (from Colorado State) to Clemson this past semester. I thought Clemson would be better for me academically and socially, but I really miss my former school. As far as the surrounding town, feel of campus, and options for food and social activities, I believe Clemson lags far behind Colorado State. Also, I grew up in Colorado. I miss snow days and wide open views. I would transfer back in a heartbeat, but the academic problem still stands. The academics are fine at CSU for math and sciences, but I have since changed my major from soil science to English. Clemson seems to have a superior English program, which is the main reason I am reluctant to leave. I have also committed a lot of time and effort in transferring. However, it’s getting harder for me to imagine staying and finishing my degree here. I’ve started to explore the option of abandoning both schools altogether and starting somewhere new (like a smaller liberal arts school). Any advice?

Some things to consider:

–Could your parents even afford the OOS rates (and additional transportation costs) for Colorado State? Is a LAC affordable (given that merit aid is hard to come by as a transfer student)?

–How recently have you moved? Have you given Clemson a fair shot? Have you tried joining clubs, participating in events you are interested in etc.?

–Have you considered taking a semester (or year) abroad to lessen the time you will have at Clemson?
