So here is my situation. I am a freshman at USC studying international relations. I know that it is a good school but I am not entirely comfortable here with the social scene. Frat parties are pretty much the only options for weekends when you don't have a car to get off campus. The neighborhood sucks, not much to do around because it is pretty sketch.
I'm not completely convinced I am going to transfer, it depends on how I like next semester but I am going to apply places just in case. The problem is where.

I was torn between USC and American university last year and wish I had thought more about choosing American. I also loved tufts and Claremont McKenna but I didn't get in to either. I haven't gotten my grades but I probably have around a 3.5 and am in the honors program. I had a 3.9 in hs and a 33 on ACT. I have had jobs internships was super involved in high school and have a leadership position at an organization at USC and have done volunteer work here.

So where should I apply?
I'm looking for a smaller school (definitely less than 10000 but I'd be good with even under 6000).
I feel like part of the reason I chose USC over American was the name recognition. I realize now to an extent that is a mistake. I don't want to have a good education but be miserable for the next four
years.
Location is not important
I like the idea of a liberal arts school but not really the social reputation some have of being harder partiers than state schools and stoners
I want a place that helps students transition in or at least a place where the students aren't going to be cliquey after the first year
I am not opposed to partying, I am part of a sorority, it's just I want there to be other options on a Saturday night.

Sorry this is so long. Please reply!!!
