go with your gut feeling - you must have one ;-)

my gut feeling would be handwriting - it will really stand out, and you have nice writing, so why should it matter. Plus, it’s called PERSONAL essay, and what is more personal than handwriting your essay? ;-)

Sure, Harvard routinely admits people who have creative presentations. So do other top-notch schools. A caveat - it has to be perfect. If it seems gimmicky your essay is going to be laughed at.

I have been walking around the house thinking about your handwritten essay.

“Why do all the cool ideas come to other people?”

“I should have thought of that.”

“Why? Why am I THAT unoriginal?” ;-)

…

Not to worry, my essays are all either in the mail or in their folders waiting to be read ;-)

But I had this cool idea (I think):

What if you write just, say maybe the first paragraph and a half by hand, then type the rest? That way, it won’t look sloppy and you can still write it by hand. I don’t know what you’re writing about exactly, but you could even tie in with the text: say you’re talking about the differences between typing and handwriting: then you could handwrite when you’re talking about handwriting and type when you’re talking about typing ;-)

there was a guy who applied to Brown that made his own font from his handwriting. Then he used the font to type his essays
Guess what? he was admitted :P

If you did it’d be the most BAMFing essay they got and you’d get accepted.
And do it on, like, ancient egyptian papyrus or something, that would just kill it
haha, good luck!!!
