<p>I'm currently a college freshman, and I'm considering medical school as an option after undergrad.</p>
<p>I'm really struggling with an elective English class I'm taking right now. I'm taking it pass/fail. I'm having trouble writing the final paper, which is worth 50% of the grade. It's due on December 6th, which is also the last day to drop the class. The professor didn't assign a topic or a work to write about, and I'm having difficulty working around the lack of structure in this assignment.</p>
<p>30% of our grade was a shorter essay earlier in the term. I found it much easier to complete, but even after getting help from the writing center on campus, I got a C on it. So right now I'm passing, but I anticipate that I won't be doing very well on this final paper and I may not receive credit. </p>
<p>Also, my school doesn't enter course drops or fails on the external transcript, so I'm not sure if this course would even be visible to medical schools I may apply to if I were to drop it. </p>
