WHy does US get to boss people around? We have nuclear power, so does China, so does Russia, etc. Why are there a selected few that can restrict access to technology that can benefit their lacking military to helping their energy usage.

USA needs to worry about its own people and stop being the global police. If the average American only knew that crap like this goes on... http://www.sweetliberty.org/issues/israel/costofisrael.htm ... they would be hanging politicians from street lamps.

And Iraq was a diversion because Bush failed to catch Osama. He promised to get Osama "dead or alive", and now he says that Osama isn't a big threat anymore. And BTW those hijackers on the Sept 11 attacks were Saudi Arabian, not Iraqi. There's also a theory that 9/11 was perpetrated by Bush himself.....this video makes a pretty convincing case for it.

Well I can't find the video right now, but I'll post the link later.
just as a follow up...

Osama himself is not really much of a threat...he's more of a spokesperson... a figure... an icon...it's the people around him that we're going after...

you think al qaeda would crumble just because we captured or killed bin laden?

yeah... i didnt think so.

oh, and the reason why we won't be getting on the saudi's case more is because of oil... we can't afford to put political pressure on them at the moment... we need the oil... period.

BTW, just an FYI... the saudi's hate bin laden just as much as we do...

Truth: There was nothing sudden about it. The building was hit by falling debris from one of the towers, was missing much of one corner, had a huge hole in the middle and was on fire for hours. The building had started leaning and making creaking noises so fire department officials ordered the evacuation of the area over an hour earlier.
Oh right....because WTC's 3,4,5 AND 6 were ALL farther away from the North/South towers than WTC 7. If that theory held, Ground Zero should have been a circular parking lot with a radius of 300. Let's see, buildings RIGHT next to the North/South towers were TOTALLY intact, but a building 300 feet away collapses LATER THAT DAY because of debris? What was WTC 7 built out of? Plastic?
Truth: The firefighters fought the fire for 11 hours before they evacuated the building fearing a collapse. The building, which was never hit by an aircraft, was structurally unsound and later had to be demolished.
So....a structurally unsound building that had a fire spreading over 8 floors for 19 hours in Philly stayed intact the whole time, but WTC, built under the strictest standards, collapsed after a fire over 4 floors had been burning for about 1 hr and 1.5 hrs....do the math. I wasn't born yesterday.

Also the fact that tapes were confiscated, security systems were disabled, bomb-sniffing dogs were removed, and the fact that the government REFUSES to release ANYTHING leads me to believe that they DO have something to hide. Let's do some figuring: if they want to discredit all conspiracy theory, all they need to do is release tapes, that is IF their story was true.

Well, sadly the world has shown us time and time again that if left to their own devices things can go very badly. No one wanted to stop Hitler prior to WWII because no one believed that it was any of their business; look how that ended up. History repeats itself if not heeded or paid attention to.

And for those of you who say Israel can defend itself- It doesn't matter how strong your army is when there is a missile with a nuke headed towards you. Another interesting fact- the population in Israel is nearing 6 million. "Never again?"

futurenyustudent,

Give it a rest. No one buys your ******** theories, they have been disproven time and time again. Go back to trying to find Elvis in Argentina or trying to prove that Aspartame is a secret mind-altering drug used by the government, at least those theories are more reasonable than this WTC ********...

Elvis is in las vegas not Argentina, duh... everyone knows that.

to add to this... it was later discovered that hitler had plans of invading the US...

How do you explain the government's refusal to release anything? What does Bush have to hide? What does anyone have to hide? Why is Bush checking my financial records? Why does he HAVE THE RIGHT to check my financial records? I have nothing to hide...wait, yes I do, my goddamn SOCIAL FRIGGING SECURITY NUMBER!!!!! For all I care, he could have pulled my financial records out of Bank of America, set up a checking account under my name, and written thousands of checks that could have bounced. Or worse, SELLING it to identity thieves.

All I'm saying is that you get people's trust by being honest with them. And hiding ALL information about a significant event that took the lives of 3000 loved ones and destroyed 3000 families is DEFINITELY not a way to get trust from the American people.

And Cuse 0507 you obviously seem to care because you've taken the time to read this thread. And don't accuse me of being a hippie. Ever.

Name 15 DIFFERENT occasions in which ALL of those "theories" you speak of have been disproven. That's right, they haven't been disproven because the government keeps hiding things from us. The government is NOT being honest with me. Withholding information, in my opinion, is tantamount to lying. Until the moment the government decides to release ALL information about 9/11 INCLUDING UNEDITED versions of ALL recordings of 9/11, I have no choice but to believe someone who presents me with all the evidence to their argument, and PERSUADES me to believe them. They do have a pretty convincing argument. I will only believe those who SELL their arguments until I believe it. Because if one can't do that, one doesn't truly believe that what one is arguing is true.

BTW I'm reporting your post. That was totally uncalled for.

lmao...

wahhhhhhh

If the US did not have some sort of integral say in Middle Eastern relations, then I theorize that Israel or the US will experience a catastrophic nuclear attack. The US has got to keep an "eye" on red areas, including the middle east, lest the world will again fall to the guiles of another Hitler or Hideki Tojo.

Um.....I don't care. If the government expects me to believe them, I expect them to PERSUADE ME, with reasoned argument, based on COLD, HARD EVIDENCE.

The government gets its constiuency's trust by being honest with it. They're not getting my trust by hiding everything.

Oh Scom BTW I refuse to disclose my address to the IRS as it is a matter of PERSONAL SAFETY and the safety of all who reside in that address. I also refuse to disclose my social security number, my checking account number, my legal name, my ethnicity, my date of birth, my email address, my debit card number, my driver's license number, my employer/school, my passport number, AND my nationality for fear of being stalked by FBI agents. If the government can withhold information from me about 9/11 because of national security, then I can and WILL withhold all information about me from anyone because I'm concerned about my PERSONAL security. For all I care, some government agent could be using my social security number to do god knows what.

That's an outrageous guess. Try again.

i think its pretty safe to say that our nations top officials, bush for example, have much much much much much more information regarding things like 9/11 and Iran's nuke statis than we, the general public, do. whether that makes all of this discussion futile, im not quite sure.

proper trial... lmao...yeah... so of the thousands and thousands of enemies that we engaged with and the few thousand we captured on the battlefield, all should be brought to trial... BRILLIANT...
I was referring to guantanamo bay, where there are only about 300 people.. Not really difficult to give them a fair trial...

Also, about your previous post where the US tries to prevent civilian casualties - they obviously arent trying hard enough if they killed 9000 in iraq.. Think about that number, and then rethink your statements about the value of a human life...

Also, to whoever used the hitler analogy.. Any country could potentially use that as a justification for pre emptive war in any situation.. You cant claim that someone MIGHT misuse nukes, and they MIGHT turn out to be the next hitler, and so blow up their country in (pre emptive) retaliation..

Also, havent really agreed with Scom on most issues, but futurenyustudent... what the fu(k are you talking about?!! Are you actually serious? lol..

The government probably has better things to do then try to misuse your social security number.. Agreed that there is debate over what happened on 9/11, but its nowhere as clear cut as you make it seem..

Not that i really support bush (quite the contrary), but i cant see him trying to misuse your checking account or your social security number..

P.S. If you hit caps lock again, you dont end up having every second work capitalized.. Just a thought..

Nevertheless, it's a possibility watercannon. There's also a possibility that an employee of the government who happens to be extremely corrupt can misuse my personal information. How do I know that I'm not giving my personal information to a registered sex offender when I get my driver's license or file a tax return? For all I care, he could come breaking into my house, rape my mom and my sister, and shoot me along with all occupants of the house at the time. It's out there, but it's a possibility...

Bush lied to get us into Iraq. For all I know, he could be abusing my social security number. You never know what these politicians will do. They're in the business of lying. I geinuinely don't trust them.

i did a quick google out of curiosity and found this site...

http://www.iraqbodycount.net/

it says 30k, but i'd be willing to bet it's significantly less than that... the site's counter says "Civilians reported killed by military intervention in Iraq"

I clicked on the "View Database" button...

This number of 30k includes the attacks that terrorists have carried out on the civilian population... and is not an indicative number of the amount of civilians killed directly by the US...this site includes instances that were indirectly triggered by the US led invasion...which is why the numbers are very misleading.

I'm not quite sure what to say...i'd be willing to bet the number is greater than 9k...but much less than 30k...

now in regard to the significance of these numbers...it is a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things... very small price...we're redifining the history of an entire nation...that was previously under control by the hands of an oppressive dictator...

this number is very, VERY small compared to wars in the past...if we hadn't had the technology we used to minimize civilian damage...the devastation would have been much worse...
