Should my son submit ap scores?

The SAT subject test covers the curriculum expected of a first year high school biology class.
The AP test covers the curriculum expected of a second year high school biology class.

No they won’t. SAT Subject Tests cover HS material. Bio is typically a freshman course. AP courses are the equivalent of college courses. Apples and oranges. Every AO knows this.

No student/parent should live under the delusion that an AP science course prepares for (or is needed for) the equivalent Subject Test.

@skieurope and @planner03 thanks for the advice. I’m just going to have him not send them in. It seems like only 2 colleges on his list will slighty consider them, while the others won’t even care/use them for admission decisions.

Don’t report/submit. There is not a stellar score among them and will not give a boost to his admission profile.

As others have said…I would take a good hard look at why the scores are so average and a good hard look at the schools on the list and ask if he is a truly competitive candidate for those schools and if he is going to perform at a competitive level once admitted.

Of course an adcom can wonder why there’s strength in one metric and not another. You’re looking at everything, wanting a consistent picture.

Don’t assume they don’t “care.” You only know the wording they present regarding submitting.
Nonetheless, not submitting, in this case, makes more sense than showing those scores.

I don’t know his hs record. But I’m not worried there’s some deep rooted issue here. But agree about a good hard look at whether he has the right shot at those targets. In fact, you need to have some of this understanding to even put forth a solid app.
