<p>Engineering is one of the few majors that employers don't pay much of a premium to grads from top programs.</p>
<p>IMO, any of the universities/colleges that are ranked by USNWR for engineering are great. I'd choose a college based on other factors, such as location and cost - not so much that one is up higher on a list. It's not going to matter in the long run.</p>
<p>They probably matter more if you want to stay in academia as opposed to going into industry. And even in that case, the undergrad doesn't matter - only the grad school does.</p>
<p>The schools really shouldn't be ranked, but perhaps put into tiers of 20 to 30 schools instead.</p>
