My DS has been to a presentation on Case locally at a hotel, and later had a local interview with an admissions rep. He is impressed with Case and wants to apply EA. Because it came on our radar screen late in the summer, we haven't visited yet. Do you think we need to visit before the EA apps go in? Will it help? WIll it hurt if we don't? His schedule right now is tight but we could make time if we had to.

Since EA acceptance is not binding, I say go ahead and apply, visit later if accepted. I did not find the summer visit that informative, as compared to the "accepted students" weekend last spring. Most info received on pre-applying visits is available online, sources like CC, guidebooks, etc. Most buildings are locked when tours run, so you don't even see classrooms, etc. However, all of campus is accessible for the accepted student visits in the spring.

It won't hurt if you don't. But it would be nice if you visited by the end of the semester (by the time they made their decision). Besides, come now while classes are still going on. You'll see students and classes. Feel free to stop one of them to talk to them (especially if the said person is wearing a fedora).
