I'm a rising junior. 2 questions:

Will MIT, Caltech, Stanford, etc look at my PSAT scores? Will it give me a boost to be a Finalist?

If I don't do too well on the PSAT, but do better on the SAT, will I still have a shot to meet RSI requirements(75 on math, and 145 on verbal + math)?

BTW, I got 202 w/o studying last year. Do you think I stand a chance at getting anything good in my state North Carolina?

I think colleges pretend not to look at PSAT scores, but you can put them on your apps. I think perfect PSAT scores (or very good ones) are actually rarer than very good SAT scores. In any case, NM is almost typical (and perhaps expected) at some of the top schools.

RSI takes SAT scores for sure. I do hear that they value those PSAT scores, and that the average score is about 230 (maybe a little more? I'm taking a math class with a former rickoid, I can ask.)

I think I will start prepping now anyways, and continue prepping all the way to Junior year so I know I wont forget. :P
