Hi all on the University of Rochester board, I just want to give a huge 'shout out' to MConklin. He has by far been 'the most helpful' person on College Confidential board in my opinion. He listens and answers patiently as anxious students and parents ask questions, sometimes over and over again. Whether or not my daughter is accepted I have such warm feelings about U of R and hold the school in high esteem because I feel MConklin represents the school well and is truly a caring person. Hearing him say things such as (*paraphrasing here), 'I don 't know the answer, but I'll check on that and get back to you', 'I understand your concern', "I'll bring that feedback to the committee', is just so indicative of his honesty and truly caring character. I don't know how he manages to make sure every question is answered in a timely manner, but he does and is so reliable.

MConklin I want to thank you because you have single-handedly made the long wait till acceptance truly bearable.

Mike is a terrific representative of the University of Rochester. It has been a great help having him here. He has made himself available both in these forums and in PM’s for specific questions.

He must be a very hard worker-it’s obvious that he is dedicated and cares a great deal about the institution and the young men and women who are interested in attending this fine school.

I honestly can’t thank you enough for these incredibly kind compliments. To say that my participation on CC has been gratifying would be an understatement - I enjoy the challenge and love interacting with students and parents that consistently ask such thoughtful and interesting questions. If I have helped to alleviate even a small amount of the stress that inevitably accompanies the college search process, than the time that I have spent on CC has been well worth it.

Please let me know what else I can do to continue to be of help. Thanks so much!

Just going to echo the sentiments here. The wait is over for us, as an accepted ED applicant. It was quieter here back in December, but the attention was exactly the same.

We will be sure to stop by during open house time and say thank you!

Yes, MConklin - your insights have been awesome!! The waiting and decision process has been very stressful for us as a family - but CC and your comments have been most helpful. Sometimes, I was feeling that I was the only parent in the world with certain questions and concerns! It is great to know that I am not alone! Thank you again.

I could not agree more. MConkllin rocks! Seriously, the University of Rochester could not ask for a better representative. Thanks for all you do!

Not to diss Mike, but pretty much everyone you’ll meet at UR is nice & helpful. The counseling people are nice. Admissions staff is nice. That’s one of the things about UR; it seems populated by relatively normal, friendly people.

I’ve only run into bureaucracy issues dealing with the hospital, but the people and doctors at UHS (on-campus health center) are nice.

I must agree. I’m following like nine forums and this is by far the most helpful in terms of informed parents and involved admissions staff (MConklin)
