Siblings applying to the same Ivy League schools?

I’m wondering if anyone here knows of siblings who applied to the same Ivy League schools (or other “elite” colleges) and the one who was a recruited athlete was accepted, while the non-athlete was rejected.

What is your underlying question? Just about every combination imaginable has happened, but in general siblings are treated as independent variables, so the strength of the application of the one does not impact the evaluation of the other.

I would completely agree and think the “independence” to be even more pronounced when one sibling has a specific hook such as recruited athlete.

Stated differently I don’t think the unhooked sibling would benefit from the recruited athletes hooked status.

Hope it works out for all!!
