Does anyone know if sign language counts as a foreign language. My neice is taking it at her HS and has been told it could replace a foreign lang. I had never heard that. Thanks

Many schools accept ASL as a foreign language, as well they should. It's a complex language with it's own vocabulary, sytnax, and grammar, and it sure ain't English.

I'm taking ASL right now as my foreign language, as I struggled in Spanish. It's actually an interesting course, however it is not as easy as one would think. It is without a doubt a very different language.
