^I think it is very fair if many people here are applying RD (jan 1st deadline).

Well then props for the people who took the initiative to start their essays ahead of time. Unlike other people (me included) who are wrapping up only a few days before the deadline.

Plus, you can’t assume that you’re the only person who has a deadline due 4 days from now. A majority of the other essays silverturtle needs to read might also be due 4 days (UC, im assuming). So since you aren’t the only one, your logic that your essay should take priority over others because it’s due 4 days from now instead of Janurary 1st is invalid.

I’m not trying to start an argument or anything. I’m probably freaking out just as much as you because we have the same deadline but yeah…

I am facing about 45-50 hours’ worth of essay-editing at the moment, in addition to my personal obligations. About one third of the requests contained some sort of notification of the urgency of receiving the corrections; I will try to get to those first, but even that task is daunting.

I will do my best to get as many done tonight as possible. Getting to all of the essays in time, however, seems highly unlikely. I hope that everyone understands.

^We more than understand. We empathize with you. You are doing this out of pure volunteerism.

silverturtle-why did you choose that as your username? and will you be here on CC until year 2013?

can you read mine?

Hey @silverturtle, thank you for everything! really appreciate your help. Means a lot to me. Essay improved big time thanks to you. It surprises me that you feel obliged to correct everyone’s work, its nice, but at the same time pretty tedious. Truly reflects the type of person you are…so thank you once again. Your gonna do great things in life foreals.

There is nothing particularly meaningful behind it. Most of my aliases are some variation on “turtle”; turtles are among my favorite animals.

I don’t know. Why do you ask?

Thank you so much for your feedback, silverturtle! I truly appreciate it, very helpful.
I agree wholeheartedly with luckisalligot…you ARE going places!

Were you expecting things to get this bad, silverturtle?

Thank you so much for your help, Silverturtle! Great advice and you also gave me “some” confidence about what I thought was an atrocious essay.

I kinda feel sorry for you with all these requests though. Well good luck!

i really really appreciate your comments, silverturtle! i hope both of us could have favorable outcomes this admissions season :)

Can you also critique mine please? :D

Grammar question. When using quotation marks, does the second one go before or after the quotation mark? “Hello.” or “Hello”.

I PM’ed you mine silverturtle.
I realize that how swamped you must be with essays right now, so take your time :)

mickjagger- a better place to post that would be the SAT forum on his Grammar thread, but it should be “Hello.” Stanford essay :)?

Thanks for the critique!

May you please read my essay?
