SIMR (Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program) 2016 THREAD

I think that might mean u didnt get in @tguan916 @rtang28 but maybe try to email them again

@kailygreyanna im wondering the same thing. Can someone please answer the question: Is the bio engineering internship and lab research internship the same competivity. Is the lab internship harder to get in. are both internships valued the same or is the lab internship more prestiogous and harder to get into?

I don’t have the best stats but I put a lot of effort onto the essays. I received acceptance from simr, and I worked for it! the program looks for those who have unfeigned interest within the sciences, so for students who are worried/will be worried about the simr application because of your stats DONT BE. effort pays off. and if you don’t get in, it’s not the end of the world. Maybe you didn’t present your application in the way they were looking for, but there are so many other opportunities out there. it’s on you to decide whether to seize them.

Hi @mol234 what is your institute preference

@yayarea459w @futuredoc99 when u guys filled out the form did u get a response sayiing the emails would come out this week for institute choices?

I think it said april 4th @1999something

yes @1999something

Accepted!

Did anyone else who got accepted get an email for their assigned institute yet? I think it said it would be sent this week.

@yayarea459w as far as I know the stipends for lab internship and bootcamp are different (lab $500, boot camp $300). Not completely sure about actual difficulty and prestige.
