He not only told me, he was goofy-sweet eloquent about it! This is my taciturn engineer-student boy! I wouldn't have needed a feather; it was good that I was seated!

Oh, my, Iron City as in Iron City Beer?!?!
A very long time ago when I was in college in WVA we drank 3.2 Iron City beer - a BIG bottle was $.25.
I having a glass of win right now. Here's to y'all.

Yeah, well, someone who had a lot of Iron City might have a glass of win!!!!!

Yes -- Iron City beer. 3.2 was our preferred version as well. this was before the days of reliable fake IDs.

My non-talkative daughter today said -- for the first time in my life -- "Oh, did I tell you?..." and then said something totally unimportant but to me it was pure gold.

We were also discussing how in this most divisive election, at least in Philly, there is something in the world that can still bring people together. Go Phillies!!!!

(Is sports talk allowed in SA or does that just open up a can of [tequila-cured] worms?)

Sometimes it even brings the gents back in!

Hailing from Red Sox Nation, as I do, I will refrain from participating, though. So as not to rain on ivoryk's parade. Or, maybe I will rain on it with spray from a shaken-not-stirred, and then popped-open, Iron City?

Red Sox fan since 1967, "the Impossible Dream", and Yaz' triple crown.

Iron City Beer HQ is in my back yard. 3 miles from home and I pass it regularly, although my local beer of choice is Rolling Rock. Even better, google "Church Brew Works", which is about a half mile from IC HQ.

Glad Kenley did not win. I could not take that head getting any bigger.

*D has a piece in a fashion show here in town next weekend. As a bonus, she will be home for my birthday (one that still begins with a 4!)

I'm still in your fan base, m&s, even if you were a toddler for the Impossible Dream and I was hanging a banner out of my window at.... oh, never mind. You're as young as you feel, right? :D

Oh, and I can still have birthday with a "4" in it, too. It just won't be in the tens column!

LOL. My last birthday had a "4" in it! My next birthday will have a couple of "5"s, however!

Never got into Project Runway but I like Dancing with the Stars. Cloris Leachman has surprising staying power! And I have to mention DH was the one who reminded me to turn on the TV to watch it last week. Make that dear dear dear H! (His stock went up, but alas, it's virtual.)

ew -- I'm feeling outnumbered here. any other Phillies fans out there? Iron City -- or Rolling Rock -- all around to those who are. Moet champagne to those I can lure over from the dark side.

Iron City back in the mid 70's was the "crap beer". Fast forward 15 years at the Vista Hotel in Pittsburgh and IC Lite was the "in beer". Ahhh, the memories!

Ditto!
Well, the Sox blew it last night. I'm a lifetime member of RSN, but honestly, I'm not convinced they deserved to go to the World Series this year.

Sad but true. The Rays out-talented the Sox this series. I think I'll be rooting for them too. Won't know though 'til I'm sitting in front of the TV. Are we airing it in hi def here in the Alley?
