Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

my peeps are all the way back on page 3!!

Hope that finals went well and that everyone's kids are home safe and sound.

Several (including mine) are stuck in the northeast, but we're keeping our fingers crossed for tomorrow. At least I think finals went well!

I had a great drink recently (at a neighbor's house, so I could indulge and walk home). Ice tea flavored vodka, Chick-fil-A lemonade, and a little orange juice. I don't know what it's called, but it's very tasty!

There seem to be winter storms all over, not to mention COLD!

We had a couple of days in Cgo, and got out just in time. It's -3 there at the moment. Brrrrr!

We also got extremely lucky in getting there, in between ice storms & snow, with a planned stop to look at Purdue in Lafayette, IN on the way. Very lucky.

And not that anyone cares, but my thigh muscles are sore, not from all the walking we did (about 6 miles in Cgo) but I think from leaping massive puddles of slush at every corner. Just not used to that much leaping in one day! And we found out whose boots are waterproof and whose aren't. :(

Bumping up from oblivion.

Irish coffee here to keep ya'll warm!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Snow, snow, more snow, then freezing rain tomorrow.

Marmots, one of those cheeto-colored cashmere throws, please, and one of your best cognacs!

DH just emailed that his plane hasn't left Baltimore yet. Only about 3 hours late so far. This was just a "day trip!"

Going for a cognac too. Hope everyone is happy and merry.

I see DH has now rented a CAR and will drive home instead of flying. The Travelocity info has him picking it up this a.m. so I presume he is in a hotel for the night. I HOPE he is in a hotel for the night, and not on the floor of the airport with hundreds of other travelers.

I also gather there were no flights left to be put on, between the weather and the Xmas Eve factor. So instead of having the day off, he will be driving 9 hours in iffy weather to get home. Blech.

I just realized how much I rely on email itineraries forwarded from Travelocity to check on where my DH is. If I ever can't remember where he is, I just check my inbox. Oh yeah, today/this week it's Cleveland or NYC or Baltimore.... :D

pulling my people up.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas/ Happy Chanukah

What? Back down on page 3? That's not good. OK, barkeep, now that we're all back on page 1, pour another round on me -- S was awarded a merit scholarship from WPI, his first choice school! A complete and total surprise to him and us. S, a man of few words, was grinning from ear to ear; H & I were in shock. We were all so pleased he was accepted; receiving $$ is an added bonus of the very best kind!

Congratulations CBBBlinkerSon!

That's the best kind of news!

Another Congrats to CBBBlinkerSon!

What a wonderful gift to receive during the holiday season.

pulling my people up from page 4.

Wishing all those on the alley a very happy 2009

(yes, it is always a non-stop celebration)

Happy Happy New Year to all!

PHOOOOooooot PHOOOOooooot
(the sound of those blow-in-and-they-unfulrl noisemakers the day after festivities)

Congrats to
CBBBlinker son!

We liked WPI, it was not at all how I had imagined it.

Thanks to all for the congrats (for S)!!!!! He's off in FL with his swim team, on a training trip. He called last night to say all they're doing is eating, swimming, and sleeping. Team went to Universal Studios for New Year's eve, but they were all so tired they left before midnight. OTOH, it's a heavenly 75 degrees there -- unlike the current 25 here, with more snow in the forecast.

Happy New Year to all!

Just returned from Fla, so nice and warm! Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy new year. D completed the seven apps not done before the big deferral. ( her vaca was not so fun, but they are DONE!!) now I can go to the party room and have a nice big cocktail:D

Oh CBBBLINKER a big woot woot! to the S on the scholarship, ah smiles all around.

Florida sounds good. REALLY good.

Every year when it gets cold & snowy here in the Midwest I think someday I'll just join the snowbirds down south. Even in southern Va. (where I was for New Year's) it's warmer than here.

Bumpity-bump! Tomorrow, I'll report on our fun trip to Disney World over Christmas, and I'll try to remember everything I just spent an hour writing before CC timed out on me and lost the post...oookay. :D Happy New Year, Sinners!
