Looking forward to your shaggy dog story, sluggy!

Today is my birthday--the big double nickel!

DH made me chocolate mousse last night and I made a Kahlua chocolate cake for snack with my band people today. Come to think of it, the mousse had rum in it. Party on!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MM!! And sluggy, looking forward to hearing about your mm experience (thats mickey mouse, non mommusic, unless she has big ears an a tail) too. Did you look for the hidden ickeys while you were there? Thats my favorite thing to do in DW.

mommusic -
Feliz, feliz en tu dia
Amiguita, que dios te bendiga
Que reine la paz en tu vida
Y que cumplas muchas mas! Ole!

Sorry I don't know how to do accent marks on my laptop.....just imagine they are there and I am singing this to you sorta like Gloria Estefan (hope you're really imaginative today!)
I'll translate so as not to violate TOS (I think I remember something about that):

Happy, happy on your day
Dear friend, may God bless you
May peace reign in your life
And may you have many more birthdays! Ole!

jym626, what's a hidden ickey? Sounds like something you would want to remain hidden!

LOL!! MY awful typos again. They are hidden Mickey's. Its a whole subculture-- to find the hidden mickeys around the parks and in the exhibits or on the rides.

Ohhhhhhhhh, now I get it! I've only been to Disney World once, and I think I was 12 at the time. It was within a few months of the park opening.

Hidden ickeys are the stuff you don't see but manage to get stuck to the bottom of your shoe (or the bottom of you when they rush you onto the ride seat so fast!).

Where's the christmas card from the cats???

MM happy happy birthday to you. Hope that you re having a wonderful day!!

Here is a double nickel for your double nickel.

Double Nickel* s

Hidden Mickey? There's even a book about how to find the hidden mickeys! Hidden Mickeys Guide : A Field Guide to Walt Disney Worlds Best Kept Secrets Here is an example of a subtle hidden mickey (see the earring on the Maharaja) Hidden Mickeys and here are more obvious ones Hidden Mickey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaWalt Disney World Hidden Mickeys- MousePal Hidden mickeys take all forms. My favorite is in the Haunted mansion ride-- the first thing you go by is an old dining room table set for dinner. The Staff will sometimes take the spectacles on the table and place them in such a way as to be a hidden mickey, and then another will change it. Its a whole subculture and makes the time pass when looking for them while you are standing in line! Many of the sewer drains have mickeys on them, but many dont. Really-- look into it-- its fun. If you ask the attendants at each of the rides where the hidden mickeys are on the ride, they'll usually tell you where to look.

And yes, since I went to grad school not far from DW, I got to know the parks (back then) so well, I knew were all the bathrooms were. That is definitely spending too much time there! One time, many years later, we took the kids to DW at Christmastime. Many of the Christmas lights on the back lot at MGM were twisted into hidden mickeys, and the kids had such fun with that.. seeing who could spot more and point thenm out. Great memories...

Curious any former DL cast members here? Where? Tahitian Terrace :) cafe Orleans /Sara Lee. Blue Bayou here. Years later ended up working with 3 former cast members in a town far away from DL.

Greeting--
My first post to CC. I am up late tonight worried about S, HS senior. Reading CC for some insight, not just normal "where does S apply" questions. All sorts of stuff going on. Anyway-- saw the Sinner's Alley Happy Hour, enjoyed your stories, lighten my load. So here is one of mine.

I have had short silver hair (and I'll add beautiful) since I was ~40 years old and my son was 6. One of my S's lovely friends asked one day (mind you, I had even taught the crummy kid church school for a year) if I was my kid's mom or grandmother! Birthday party invitations to rude boy have been discouraged since, now at 17 I think we are clear. By the way his mom is my age and dyes her hair an odd magenta color.

Yes, welcome, DrBlue! We love a good story in here!! I am buying the next round, after CBBBlinker.

Byt the way, ladies and gents. take a look at the post count # in this thread. Time to start planning for another party!! Post # 12,000 approaches!! Jmmom, you got that beer bong hat stashed in your closet somewhere?
