DH did taxes today...despite the occasional anguished cries as he installed Turbotax, the outcome was successful....a small refund!

Next round's on me!

Next round's on me!

Could use a drink. We just had a robobaby in the house for the weekend. My 16 year old S brought the simulated infant home.

It is computerized doll, about a 9 - 10 lb child, and needs to be fed, burped and changed. Sometimes it is just fussy and inconsolable and the "parent" just has to deal with it.

I got a headache from the thing, but got off easy compared to S. Think he got about two hours sleep Friday night. W woke up during the night to the sound of him yelling at the baby to "shut up!".

He learned that actions have consequences, some life changing. He is looking forward to a good nights sleep this evening.

LOL. Our HS health classes had those for a few years. I think the parents finally got fed up!
They are incredibly demanding--hey, just like the real thing. ;)

Whaaattt???

You mean the proud "granparents" did not take the baby to coddle and spoil it for a little while (or would that be considered cheating ;) )

Alert the marmots! a round on me: son and fiance just got into the same grad school. It has been a bitter wait for them and therefore, though I am 6000 miles away, me. Engagement in Honolulu last Christmas. I have been dropping in at the bar but keeping in the shadows. Cheers.

As our service unit's cookie mom, I successfully placed 2,000+ cases (12 boxes per case) of Girl Scout cookies into the correct people's hands today (with the help of numerous volunteers). We had five homeless cases for a few hours, which my 17-year old offered to take off my hands, but I found the right guardians in the nick of time. What drink goes with Thin Mints?

overseas--congrats to son & fiancee!

TheAnalyst--Mint Juleps, of course! Or a Grasshopper.

How about an Ann Arbor double chocolate. :) with a touch of Baileys......

what's an Ann Arbor double chocolate? (U Mich alum here)

It's two sweeties who will be at Ann Arbor next year.

aaaaah! OK! Thanks. It's a great place to be young and in love. (Dh and I met, became engaged, and got married there. :D)

I raise my glass to memories and beginnings!

Just appeared in the right-side ad section on my Facebook homepage:

"Get a free lightweight Marmot hiking tent and more for free! Claim yours today."

The possibilities are...endless. :D

I'm celebrating becoming a cc "member" today, with 300 posts! Thought I'd never get here.

I don't think I ever told you alley sinners about seeing the CC marmots last summer on my hiking trip in the Sierras. They were on vacation, too, so I didn't get any much-needed help carrying my pack or setting up camp. They hung around the mountain passes, scarfing down any treats that had been dropped by hikers who were resting on top. The marmots looked quite fat and happy, twitching their tails and chirping while stretched out on the rocks.

And at the end of the day, they settled down in their Marmot tents for a cozy night's sleep!

I even have my own Marmot jacket. No furry critters were involved in its creation, so any PETA members can have a nice drink and chill.

Bump.

Is it time to start our St. Paddy's Day celebration yet?

Nah, today we get to celebrate the Ides of March.

Right! And yesterday was Pi Day. March is just full of reasons to celebrate, isn't it?

Tho I guess Caesar would disagree...

Not long til Spring, either!

Is anyone wearing green today? :D It's Saint Patrick's day, but it is sooo quiet in the Alley...

(bumping this up!!)
