Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

Go TSFS! I have been biting my lips and waiting to hear. So exciting…

Thanks Alu!

Congrats to shelleysD!

shelley, that sounds like a very interesting year.

SBmom - your kid will be practically around the corner from me. My kids went to science camp on the Sarah Lawrence campus one summer.

TANK OF ALCOHOL

How does that work? Is it a dunk tank? What kind of alcohol? I might be in line to be the dunkee, but the devil is in the details!

(congrats to all)

Yes, shelley, congratulations as well. On to real life, right?

Congrats to SBson and shelleydaughter.

I will volunteer to push the button the dunk tank. Dunk-er, not dunk-ee… that’s me.

Departing Mexico tomorrow… thanking the marmots that no one got too carried away with the Close-The-Border idea. :)

jmmom, alcohol is known to kill the darn swine virus, so margaritas will be your best defense. Better than a face mask, LOL!

Excellent information, Bunsen. I wonder why they are not mentioning this on all of the news shows and public service alerts?

Bumping up from the nether regions.

So far no schools in our area have been closed & no events cancelled. I’ll drink to that good fortune!

I’m praying we make it through the APs without any silly panics - and the June SATs too.

Good news and bad news:

Good: mathson finally got a summer internship. Great pay, well known firm.
Bad: it’s in Silicon Valley, start time seven days after his last final and I think will last pretty much till school starts.

Bump.

And I’m thinking I should start a “new kitchen” thread or I’m going to be in here drinking. A lot.

They’re making steady progress and we’re doing ok with our makeshift arrangements, but… we just found out what they forgot to mention. “3 to 4 weeks” means until the cabinets are installed. THEN they take a final measurement for the countertop, while we wait another week to 10 days!

Which would be merely annoying if we didn’t have a wedding shower scheduled here within that time. Aaaaargh.

There is a Plan B but her house isn’t as big.

Is it too early to start celebrating? D is back in the USA!!! After 4 months in India, China, & So. Africa, her plane just landed in DC. One more flight left until she’s really back home here in CT, but I’m thankful beyond words to have her safely back in this country.

Drinks are on me! :)

Welcome home to CBBBlinkerdaughter, the world traveler!

Pulling my homepeeps up.

Congrats on all the great news.

This round is on me to wish all the moms grandmoms, stepmoms, Mr. Moms, Godmothers, grandmother’s mother-in-laws and just like mothers a happy Mother’s Day!!

Isn’t this a day, where we can just sit back and smile for all the good things…

Ladies, the Man Cave has been ancient history for a while, but I need a social place that celebrates special occasions the correct way (with toasts of alcholic beverages, the way special occasions should ALL be celebrated).

So please join me in a toast (I’ll take Single Malt) to Col Mike “Bueno” Good, an old buddy of mine from my young flying days in the AF, who will be aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis tomorrow as it lifts off at 2:01PM for a trip to the Hubble Telescope. Bueno will be performing several space walks to service the Hubble while there. A life long dream for him (astronaut on a mission to space), and he has spent nearly the last decade at NASA pursuing that goal.

Cheers, Mike! And God Speed!

Sorry for the “univited” hijack. I just had to celebrate for him! And this is the only place in CC I know of (with the Man Cave defunct) that serves booze!

Wow Bullet. That deserves a toast. One of my boys always wanted to be an astronaut, but he just wouldn’t quit growing. He knew the height limit and had me measure him often when he got near the limit. He’s now several inches over the limit.

I’ll toast to your buddy, Bullet!! This makes you almost famous!!! Astrogirl will appreciate his maintaining the Hubble for her personal enjoyment. ;)

Prosit Bueno! (And I’m glad they aren’t just deep sixing the Hubble.)

A toast to the astronaut with the Right Stuff!
