Happy Pesach to all partaking in the festivities.

Happy Easter!

Yikes, cbbblinker!! Sharkdiving? Any update?

They should take marshmallow PEEPS to decoy the sharks.

^^^ LOL mafool. Did you se the thread about the peeps diorama contest? Hysterical!! Very clever entrys.

My son loves peeps…but it’s passover and he is feeling very deprived

Yes, jym626, I did. I’m thinking a Jaws-inspired diorama…

At this time of year I always enjoy watching the Peeps Jousting videos on youtube… :D

Our house is so quiet…D and her husband left this a.m., S and his fiancee left yesterday evening…I miss them! But we did have fun together.

boysx3-
There are kosher for passover marshmallows, but something tells me that peeps are not likele to be kosher

And speaking of peeps, where’s sybbie? I always think of the little marshmallow critters whenever she says she is bringing her "peeps "up for a lower pg :)

Hi everyone – got a text yesterday during Easter dinner that D had returned safely from shark diving. She said it was very cool, but perhaps not as big a deal as she thought it would be. Well, sounds A-OK to me. This round is on me! (No Peeps, however – I really, truly dislike those things!)

REminds me, a friend’s D is in New Zealand, student teaching, and plans to go bungee jumping. Aiiiiieeeeee!

If she really loved her parents, she wouldn’t tell them until AFTER she went.

Ah, adventuresome youth! a round on me!

I remember the time I wanted to go see the sleeping sharks of Isla Mujeres. The guide misunderstood what I wanted and took me and friend to the place where sharks hung out! Thankfully, we had a camera and got it on film, sharks and me. Later as a third grade teacher I used the film to teach about sea life etc. It was the best thing though. Those kids thought I was cool.

Pulling the peeps up from page 5!

I thought of looking for everyone on the knitting thread which is seeing more activity than SA right now… :D

We made it through Passover and now work on our new kitchen/laundry room begins Monday. I’ll probably be back frequently to moan and groan!

Raising a glass to jdjaguar and family. Congrats on your son’s graduation and recovery

Been gone for a while. How is everyone?

LFWB got his ship assignement for after he graduates. The new Ensign will be headed for the USS Curtis Wilbur – DDG-54. Welcome

Named in honor of the forty-third Secretary of the Navy, this Arleigh Burke Class guided missile destroyer is the first commissioned warship to carry the name “CURTIS WILBUR”. It is forward deployed to the Western Pacific Ocean and homeported in Yokosuka , Japan. It is one of seven ships in Destroyer Squadron FIFTEEN. Nicknamed the “Steel Hammer” it is an integral part of Battle Force SEVENTH Fleet, the Navy’s only permanently forward deployed naval forces.

He is totally psyched!

LFWB dad–kudos to your son! How exciting!

The kitchen deconstruction is proceeding apace, soon to be followed by actual CONstruction. As I remarked to my DH, the only problem with the weekend is…nobody’s working on the kitchen! We are surviving, however, with the microwave, hot plate, fridge, bar sink, etc. We grilled out Friday night and make lots of healthy salads in any case.

I have come to believe I used to spend too much time cooking.* ;)

*Cooking and washing dishes. Ain’t paper & plastic wonderful? :D

Ready for a big tank of alcohol now that our college process is officially over. That is unless TSFS gets expelled or something… (The mothers of other slacker sons can understand why this might be a footnote thought in my brain…)

TSFS has accepted a place at Sarah Lawrence-- a school that seems like a great fit for him and a place he will thrive. It was pretty difficult turning down his other top acceptance (half the $$) but this school seems truly perfect for his interests and style. Not to mention the very favorable (to him) girl boy ratio.

Parents of Slackers: there is hope! There are schools out there that will sense your kid is “right” for them!

I think I will share that big tank of alcohol tonight? Can we make it champagne? DD will be deferring to Agnes Scott and will be going to England on a full scholarship as an English Speaking Union scholar for a gap year doing A levels at an English boarding school. Cheers to all.
