Sitting in on engineering class?

Has anyone visited and sat in on a CIT class (electrical or mechanical)? It looks like both ECE and MechE offer tours, but the only reference to visiting classes is on sleeping bag weekend which does not work for us. I know we can call the school next week but if anyone has any direct experience I would love to know.

A bit different, but last year when I was considering going to CMU for chemistry (I was admitted ED for Dietrich), I sat in on an intermediate level chem class. My brother is a student and his friend was in the class, so I went with her. If I were you, I would try to find a CIT student who could meet up with you and take you to a class. Try Facebook?

I visited last year (Now I’m accepted under ED for 2015), and spoke to a chemical engineering professor. Near the end of the meeting, he offered to let me sit in on his class later in the day. I did so and it was worth doing. I would say to try visiting on your own and set up meetings with some professors in the area you are interested as it is a much more personal and informative experience than a weekend with 3-400 other people (not sure on that number, lots of people). You can always ask to sit in on a class. Professors aren’t THAT scary!
