SJSU Selective Service

In my To Do List for SJSU, it is asking me to verify selective service. It asks me if I registered for Selective Service, and I put no, because I don’t turn 18 till May. However it asks me to attach a statement of selective service regisration compliance. What do I do?

https://www.sss.gov/Home/Registration says that you can register beginning age 17 years and 3 months.

+ucbalumnus It says that they can take up to 90 days to process my registration. However I only have until April 26 to submit, for SJSU.

You should ask SJSU directly how to handle it if you register but do not receive the needed confirmation letter before the specified date.

However, SJSU’s form at http://www.sjsu.edu/faso/docs/SSRV17.pdf does allow you to specify that you are not required to register because you have not yet reached your 18th birthday. You should verify with SJSU that this applies to you if they want the form in April and your 18th birthday is in May.

I have to fill everything out online, and there is a box that asks me to check off, where it shows the reasons I cannot register and there is a box that says “I have not reached my 18th birthday.” Then it asks for a registration compliance. Would the document I attached below work?
