Skidmore ED II Class of 2021!

@munit123 @iambibliophile Rejected. :frowning:

this is really strange. im assuming the test-optional policy caused a huge increase in applicants, so i wouldn’t be surprised if the overall ED rate dropped.

Wow @StormXenon

Yeah @screenies. The test-optional policy definitely increased the total number of applicants that applied.

They had accepted 50% student of whole class in ED last year.

Don’t know what happened this time. Any of you got deferred?

i’m so sorry guys :frowning: be strong and keep your head up! best of luck with RD decisions. i’ve applied to Skidmore RD btw

best of luck to all of you. i guess this just wasn’t meant to be. i was told that a record number of applicants (10,000) applied for admission. Note that there are roughly 680 students enrolled in a class. to those who were accepted, congratulations!

Where did you get the information about the number of students that applied? Is it on an article online?

How did those who received a decision get it? Was it thru mail or email? Please reply

mail

i spoke with my local rep from Skidmore

@munit123

I live in Miami and still have not received anything. Any idea of what I should do?

@cmd3211399 You’ll soon receive your mail. Just be patient.

Was anyone deferred?

does the number 10,000 represent EDII applicants? because if that’s the case then that’s a really really low acceptance rate, nothing like the 50% that was mentioned earlier

no, there were 10,000 applications total. im not sure how many ED applications there were.

Seriously?

Yes, my son got in!!! The packet came in the mail. As soon as I saw it I knew, because it looked like a catalog/folder wrapped in clear cellophane with something yellow thing inside it (which was the school pennant). It also said “A great place to spend 4 years!”. If that was a rejection letter with school advertising, that would have been cruel. I called my son and he was 3 blocks away. I told him to run home. I burst out crying, because I had a feeling it was good news and it was release of 2 years of stress over the whole application process. He came home and opened it and there was a big YES printed on the folder. (Plus an official acceptance letter inside).
I’m so sorry for those of you who did not get in. I’m sure you will have luck with your RD’s. My son also put in about 9 other applications RD, and he’s a bit disappointed that he will never know if he got into them or not. But this is the choice he made. You will have a choice of where to go, which is somewhat empowering.

P.S. I don’t know how to respond to particular people, as others have done. What’s the trick?
