Skipping Classes at Caltech

I was wondering how easy it is to skip classes at Caltech. I've taken multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and complex analysis, but I'm considering taking multivariable calculus once more (it was pretty long ago...)

On the other hand, I'm relatively comfortable with theoretical linear algebra, but my teacher never really stressed a lot of the applied aspects (finding eigenvalues given matricies, etc.). The text we are using now is Linear Algebra Done Right (Axler).

We also spent a while doing 8 chapters in Ahlfors, which I'm comfortable with, or at least I think I'll be comfortable with if I spent a little time reviewing. (Although that is the hardest math text I have ever encountered...so far, anyway)

What would be the best course of action for me if I went to Caltech?

(By the way, idk if this is obvious or not, but I do not want to take Calc 1 over again. I took BC+ calculus, which was proof based BC calc. We used Apostol Vol 1.)

To get out of core math classes you take placement tests the summer before you come here. If you have had lin alg/multivariate before and have done some proofs, you'll do fine. You definitely don't need Alfhors to get out of any core math.

You can pass out of Ma1ab (calculus, linear algebra) without passing out of Math 1c (multivariate). If you don't feel strong in multivariable just don't take the test...a review can only benefit you.
