Hello. I am doing research on the use of slang in Ivy League schools, and wanted to know if anyone could help me out with what slang is used at Princeton. I realize that this forum is primarily used for answering questions of potential and incoming students, but I have been unable to find another forum with a sizable community of Princeton students, so I hope there are people here who would be able to help me. I am interested in what slang terms are used, their meaning, examples of how they are used, what time periods they were used in, etc. Any kind of information you can provide would be helpful.

go to dailyprincetonian.com, then "features", and they have a Princeton dictionary broken up into sections of the alphabet. They're mostly current terms, though...

the street, boot, beast, beirut, gut, hose, the wa, pick-ups, prox, robo, sexile

Dinky Dinky Dinky Dinky

baller..........

When my dad was at Pton, I know they used terms like "the Prospect 11" (drinking at every single club at one night...not sure how many clubs there are now...) and "getting McCoshed" (getting sent to McCosh due to alcohol poisoning). Oh yeah and Holder Howl and Nude Olympics. But those things aren't really slang...that's more like Princeton-speak.

not a slang, but probably all engineers know 'Hoagie Haven'

this is not an unpaid ads
