For anyone who has submitted a portfolio through SlideRoom, did you have problems uploading any of your images? The max upload file size is only 5MB. All of my images slightly go over this limit. I have used the program recommended on the SlideRoom site to shrink the images but I feel some of them lost significant quality. Should I just submit them "as is" and contact the individual schools with a link to the high quality images?

Also, for my digital photographs, when asked about medium and size, what would I write? Do I say Digital Camera and put the resolution?

I suggest contacting Slideroom Support at support@slideroom.com . They can provide further guidance. I would not suggest uploading images that are not of good quality. You can contact the school if you still can’t figure out what to do after contacting Slideroom.

Hello! I realize this topic is a little old, sorry. If you uploaded the photos onto your computer from a camera I would recommend using photoshop, if you can get access to it. My art teacher showed me how to size my photos; we uploaded the original pics into photoshop, edited them to make sure the cropping and contrast was good, then we went into “image size.” There’ll be a little box that says “resample.” You should uncheck this, then change the resolution to 300. Then save the image. (We also saved another smaller copy of the image by rechecking “resample,” changing the resolution to 72, then editing the size. If you want a smaller copy as well as the larger one, make sure you save them as two separate pics.) Make sure “resample” is unchecked whenever you do a 300 resolution image. You’ll have to go through this process for each image. That might fix your problem, I hope? Good luck!
I contacted the schools and they actually said they don’t want super high resolution uploads. I was able to get a copy of photoshop and resize the images to still look good and meet the upload limits. Thanks!
