Slightly Average GPA, great ECs-- Chance for ED NYU Stern?

Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 2120:
760 Math
730 Writing
630 Reading

ACT: none

SAT II: Math 2: 790 :) .... US History: 650 :(

Unweighted GPA b:** 3.56 Unweighted, 3.9 weighted OUT OF 4.5!!! My school is so weird, they won't even make it out of 4.0, like they told me to leave my Common App's GPA box blank and they'll send all my colleges a transcript LOL

VERY slight downward trend, but never got lower than a B. few As, mostly Bs and B+s

Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Our school has never ranked, never will. 252 kids in my class.

AP (place score in parenthesis): Calculus AB (5) (I didn't take BC, will this hurt me?), APUSH (3), Microeconomics (4), Macroeconomics (4).
Senior year APs: Physics, French, European History, Statistics

Course Load: all honors freshman/sophomore year except regular history in freshman year but nobody cares tbh. sophomore year I got into APUSH anyways
junior year: all APs/honors EXCEPT AP English. No other AP sciences until...
senior year: all APs/honors, AP Physics, still no AP English

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Future Business Leaders of America (President), NJ Consumer Bowl (business quiz competition) (Captain, led team to win county champs after 5 years of losses), Junior Statesman of America political/debate club (State Assembly Representative), some other clubs I've been devoted to for a while. won't list.

Job/Work Experience:
Interned at a startup blog this summer, did marketing/PR/technical management. After my internship ended, the blog was bought by a large company, so me doing marketing looks quite nice. Increased website visits by 400%, 500% in some cases.

Interned at a well-established PR company near the end of this summer for a much shorter time than my 1st internship, I did professional level work but wasn't paid. not a big deal, but the opportunity is very sought after and I was very fortunate to be doing the same job as some 23 year olds.

these 2 internships were in NYC

Volunteer/Community service: I want to say 50-ish hours for being in the Boy Scouts for 6 years, but never actually trying. Quit this year, not going for Eagle Scout. Did 1-day projects in Costa Rica and the Bahamas but it doesn't matter much to me at all

Essays: Pretty good. Having a few very talented people (not too many people) go through them with me weekly. writing about my internship experience and what I learned about the real business world and why I want to pursue business in the future. also my unique love for fashion which I think would appeal to other colleges besides NYU. This also plays well because I'll be describing why I HAVE to go to NYU Stern as it has the BEST marketing program (as compared to FIT or LIM which are more based for fashion), and also that I HAVE to go to school in NYC because that is where the fashion world is)

Teacher Recommendation: best rec is from my first internship (longer one) boss, who's actually a NYU professor but not at Stern. He/she is at Steinhardt but also went to NYU Steinhardt I think. Hopefully he/she can sway the decision, absolutely loved my work and wants me to stay with him/her once the blog is acquired by the larger company (I'll begin telecommute-working at this larger company during this year, paid). he/she has been on CNN, many news websites, etc. and is a ruthless (and now successful!) entrepreneur, so he/she will understand the business aspect of my application

1 from english teacher. My favorite teacher, she loved me and we always talk. known in my school for giving the hands-down BEST recs in the school, she has a selective list of <20 people and nobody else can get on that list.

1 from my business teacher, I ran the only 2 business clubs in the school that he advised for. Ran consumer bowl for 2 years. for FBLA, I recruited 90+ people, basically tripling last year's club size

Counselor Rec: Probably generic since she writes one for all the people in our school regardless. Based off of a fact sheet I filled out for her. But we do talk a few times/month, so she knows me as a person.

yes, I think I am going to submit all 4 of these recs. NYU I think requires 2-3 of them*

State (if domestic applicant): NJ

Country (if international applicant): USA

School Type: Public, 252 kids/class

Ethnicity: Chinese American

Gender: M

Income Bracket: $$$,$$$. Won't qualify for any need-based aid from NYU.

Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): first generation in USA, I don't think that that helps since both my parents still went to college here, but immigrated here. Both are citizens if that matters.

Please let me know what you all think! Will not settle for anything other than NYU Stern.

please help! bump

omgomngomgomg

Did you get in? We have the same stats lol

No :frowning: I got rejected from both Stern and CAS.
