Sls Question

I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to this question. I already applied to SLS. ON the app. I put down my sat scores. I will be taking the jan. SAT and sending my scores to Wp. Does anyone know if they will take these scores into consideration for SLS. THanks!

I was just reading on this site, earlier in the year someone had posted that if you are going to recieve your candidate kit in Late August you are automatically not going to get an LOA. Can anyone verify this statement?

I got my candidate kit in late august and i got an LOA. but my LOA didn't come as early as most others did. most of my friends got their LOA's in august/september/october. i got mine a week before thanksgiving.

Oh, that's kind of reassuring. That's what I thought but it said otherwise in a previous post. Thanks. Any other feedback welcome!

LOA's are given to a small percentage of highly qualified candidates. Don't fret if you don't get one. Most cadets did not receive LOA's.

Now, if you get accepted to SLS, practice for the CFA before attending. You will have a freebie opportunity to take the test and if you pass AND have great scores, class rank, and leadership (which most applicants will have) you can be positioned to receive an LOA. Having one certainly takes a bit of the pressure off the process.

Good luck!

I have read some previous posts on West Point SLS, and a lot of rejected people say they got their rejection letters/emails like 2 or 3 days after they applied. I sent in my application Dec. 30, and still haven't heard anything...does WP take longer on some applicants than usual?

also, what is the earliest a person can hear from them for acceptance? thanks

"I sent in my application Dec. 30, and still haven't heard anything...does WP take longer on some applicants than usual?'

Admissions has been closed for the holidays so that may explain a delay at this time of year.

i applied to SLS on dec. 30, got my SLS invitation letter in the mail today. I am pretty sure that if they don't email you the rejection within 2 days, you will be accepted.

It depends on when you apply - once slots start to fill up some candidates will be put on a waiting list and it may take more time for a decision to be made.

I applied on the 20th and got my invitation today. Letter was dated Jan 2.

i got the same. applied the 20th, got invitation today.

congratulations! I applied on the 2nd and am still waiting. Do you who got accepted mind sharing your stats so I know what to expect? The waiting is killing me!
