<p>My daughter is a junior who is considering SLU and we had our first on-campus visit on Thursday. We were very impressed!</p>
<p>Some things that stood out:</p>
<li><p>The campus is beautiful! In many places you would have no idea that you were in the middle of a city. Lots of fountains, statues, and green space.</p></li>
<li><p>We were pleased to learn that there is a MegaBus that runs from KC to Columbia to St. Louis to Chicago. Our tour guide told us that she has a car at SLU but that she still rides the MegaBus because it is so convenient and inexpensive and it’s mostly ridden by college students so it even has a fun atmosphere.</p></li>
<li><p>The students seemed friendly and happy, as did many of the people working on campus.</p></li>
</ol>
<p>Ultimately for us it will come down to money and whether my daughter wants a large, state school or a smaller, private school. We’re visiting Marquette next week but I can’t imagine we’ll be more impressed than we were by SLU.</p>
