Smaller company vs Bigger company?

Well I read on some forums that a company will pay to have you live in the state they hired you for as a intern. All I meant by relocation was just whether they’d pay for your stay in the state outside of your state? I mean reasonable like NY to CA.

It varies tremendously between companies. Some companies will arrange housing and transportation and will pay you an additional living stipend. Other companies will pay you a flat salary and will expect you to take care of everything yourself - this has been the norm in my experience. Some will pay you only a nominal salary (if anything) insufficient to pay for housing OR travel, counting on some students’ desperate need for experience to draw them in to a bad financial arrangement.</p>

<p>So ask the company. It it perfectly acceptable to wait until they actually offer you the internship but ask before accepting.</p>

IMO, a smaller company is worth it, and if it doesn’t work out, you can always go to a big company. You’re young, and now is the time to take risks with your career. If/when you have a family, and want to save for retirement, then you want stability.

<p>Straight out of school is the time to learn because you don’t know much. Go with a company that will provide the best learning environment (likely a larger company) for your first 3ish years and then you can think about taking risks.</p>
