whats the best smartphone to buy for college that would be useful?

Some colleges use iPhone apps for specific reasons; a smaller number uses Android apps as well.

Ultimately I really don’t think it matters unless there is a very specific need for a certain feature.

Galaxy s4 or HTC one.

Whatever you do don’t get an iphone unless your only reason for doing so is to fit in amongst applegeeks.

You also don’t need a smartphone. It costs money for the phone plus the data plan every month. Adding a data plan costs almost 400 dollars a year, which can make a huge difference in your college financial planning.

It doesn’t really matter. A phone is a phone. But if I were you I would make sure the phone you’re paying for has service in the area you’re going to school in. And I personally would recommend an iPhone because the app store has so many apps designed specifically for college students (I have most of them on mine thats how I know lol).

Sent from my iPhone using CC

Make sure you get credible anti-malware apps or software on your smartphone, smartphones are as sophisticated as many laptops.

Otherwise, for crooks, remotely activating your microphone and listening in on your conversations and text messages will be easier than taking candy from a baby.

Personally, I can’t see it really mattering too much. I don’t use my phone for anything school related really. I downloaded a couple apps with lists of math formulas and equations…common functions…that kind of thing. I also have a really nice graphing calculator on it. But, those are things that you can find on any phone. I have a cheap smartphone…it’s a no-name brand on a pre-paid Straight Talk plan. 45 dollars a month for unlimited talk/text/data. It’s all I could ever possibly need. If you’re paying for your own phone, I would highly recommend pre-paid.
