Call Randy Shannon, he will be your new best friend.

Or email him. He once responded to one of my emails in two minutes. I was wowed.

I've heard "Randy Shannon" over and over and over again, always good things. I agree...search the Smith directory on-line and give him a jingle.

good to know, thanks!

I cant see anything past page 19. is anyone else having this problem?

SC...CC had problems and had to get rid of about three days of posts. :(

I thought I was going crazy..and that I dreamed about the last 3 days. Im glad Im not crazy!!

If I'm not mistaken the coversation was about housing (Wilson in particular). Dining options, and different houses. Being assigned a house as a transfer, and then being able to choose a different house afterwards (if you choose to). Now...continue!

Go ahead...talk amongst yourselves! I'm feeling a bit verclempt. (sp?)

Hey, I'm not Jewish, sorry.

Supercow, you may be crazy, but not on account of missing the posts.

BJM, I believe "verklempt." I belong to an obscure sect called the Meshugganim.

I'm beggining to "schvitz"...might need a "schmotta"

What's a schmotta with you?

OK, back to serious business. My D should be hearing something this week, as the Smith website says they would respond by late January. Filled out the FAFSA today. that was a good time!!!! They really don't care about any debt you have do they, just wanna know how much money you have saved? As Larry David would say, Pretty Good, pretty, pretty, pretty good!

I love larry david.

anyway..Yes, I was wondering about wilson. I hope I am happy there and dont have to request another dorm. I am going to have a roomate too, which I am a little nervous about.

Has anyone every heard anything BAD about wilson?

According to the Smith website, Wilson is the largest house on campus. As a transfer, it's probably one of the few houses to have rooms available. I wouldn't worry about having a roomate either. Certainly you could get someone you're not compatible with, and if that happens you can change rooms or houses at the end of the year. Have fun and enjoy the transformation to a great school with great women; just like yourself!

Most people are nervous about roommates at first. Odds are, all well be either fine or at least tolerable. Many students take a semsester or a year to reshuffle themselves. The more important thing to do is to take several weeks to figure out, subordinate to but not in lieu of all the other adjustments and taking care of your academics, a) whether you want to stay in the same house...this is bigger than the "roomie" question and b) if so, if you want to stick with the same roomie.

D stayed in the same house, switched roommates without more than just a little minimal drama.

Figure the pikers may take it out to the last day, BJM. I thought about you guys this morning, with the clock cycling under the ten-day window. Though, as counterpoint, D received her "April 1" acceptance on about March 25.

FAFSA is fun. I need to find the memo they said us. I don't have all the records yet for this year's but I need to start pulling stuff together. I believe we have to do the CSS Profile too. Fun fun fun fun...as TheDad would say. (No relation to Larry David.)

FWIW, we found the profile a little harder to do. Definitely, do the practice pages first, it will help putting in final numbers. We will not qualify for any need aid, but does the profile and FAFSA help us with grant or scholarship money from Smith alums, or other areas?

I am moving into smith this thursday! Its hard to believe. Are there any specific things I should pack?

don't be tempted to bring everything you own. there's a good list on the jolt, though: http://smith.dailyjolt.com/packinglist.html
